The Institute of Supply Chain Management, better known as IoSCM, are globally recognised as the world leading supply chain management institute. This year IoSCM are delighted to celebrate a decade of providing Ofqual regulated professional qualification as they move into their 10th year as a British Institute.
Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, 5th January 2022. This Institute of Supply Chain Management (IoSCM) has today announced a range of new products and services will be launched throughout 2022 as the business celebrates its 10th year in the UK.
Ten years is only the beginning, the best is yet to come.
IoSCM, was originally founded by British Supply Chain Expert, Kevin Rumfitt, who was working in Abu Dhabi to develop logistics capabilities of businesses in the region in partnership with governments in the middle east. In early 2000’s, the term ‘supply chain’ was rarely used in the vocabulary of anyone working within a supply chain, never mind the rest of the world! Each sector or industry, worked in silos concentrating on their own responsibilities and for many businesses costs were out of control. There were many more effective ways of working.
KNOWLEDGE IS POWER Those ‘in the know’ were already operating cost effective, fairly resilient supply chains, paving the way for businesses of all shapes and sizes to redesign their operations. Of course, understanding how they could do that in a way that worked for them, wasn’t a straightforward change that could happen overnight. The success of the middle-eastern project highlighted to the IoSCM team that there was an urgent need to address gaps in the skills and knowledge of professionals in all industries. Paired with a need to develop a global understanding of the supply chain and how each sector, or link in the chain needed to play their part. With a newfound appreciation of the importance of having skilled employees across the supply chain, the team knew they could make a significant impact across industry, and advance the capabilities of supply chains by bringing together the many different sectors and helping them to upskills and establish best practice blueprints for businesses to build successful operations.
BACK ON UK SHORES, THE TEAM GOT TO WORK! To effectively manage, stabilise and grow a business, you cannot overlook the importance of any part of it. To make a real difference, the team knew they needed to be able to support the learning and development of supply chain professionals at all levels and stages of their careers across all sectors of the industry. The team worked tirelessly to develop a range of qualifications that had units of study as varied as the supply chain itself before launching the Institute in the UK.
FAST FORWARD TO 2022 This year we are officially celebrating a decade of IoSCM in the UK, and what an exciting twelve months we have in store! Since our inception in the UK, the Institute has successfully guided thousands of learners through their professional qualifications, supported an astounding array of businesses with establishing best practice and advancing their operational capabilities, and created a vast global network of members committed to improving and developing the entire supply chain. The Institute team have been hard at work to come up with ways we can continue the success of the first ten years in the decades ahead!. This year is going to be a very exciting insight of what’s to come!
BRAND NEW FOR 2022!
In the first half of this year we are going to be launching a completely new range of professional qualifications. From level 2 through to level 7, each course has been designed to align perfectly with modern industry. We have consulted with businesses of all shapes and sizes, and professionals from every sector to ensure we can address skills gaps, advance existing capabilities and meet the learning requirements for an ever-advancing supply chain.
OUR GLOBAL NETWORK OF PARTNERS IS SET TO EXPAND EVEN FURTHER! Following the successful establishment of our branches in MENA and India, we are looking forward to adding a range of new approved partners and training providers who are based in every corner of the globe throughout 2022. Ensuring the highest level of quality that IoSCM is renowned for, our partner network supports the development of cohorts of learners, accredits existing training programmes and provides first-class education to individuals who would otherwise be unable to access it. We will update on the developments in each issue of Supply Chain Outlook.
THE EXPERT NETWORK IS GOING TO BE BIGGER THAN EVER Bringing together a wide-variety of expertise from every sector of the supply chain and business landscape, the IoSCM Expert Network provides our global members with resources and insights to help navigate challenges, take advantage of opportunities and advance capabilities within the workplace. The Expert Network regularly feature in Supply Chain Outlook and The Sustain Chain and help ensure the resources available to our members are relevant, reliable and useful. This year, we are delighted to be expanding The Expert Network to offer even more support to you all. The IoSCM Hub will be updated throughout 2022 with new tools, guides, documents and more to ensure you have a one stop shop for any industry resources you need.
SAVE THE DATE, IT’S GOING TO BE GREAT! Grab your diary’s and save the date! The IoSCM Supply Chain Conference is going to be taking place in October 2022 and what an exciting event it is going to be. Throughout the day there will be exhibitors, guest speakers, seminars, and so much more, building up the excitement for an Award ceremony and celebratory dinner in the evening. Taking place in our UK hometown, Newcastle Upon Tyne, we look forward to welcoming our members, clients and other professionals from across the supply chain to a fantastic day! This is just a small peak at what is in store throughout the year, we are also going to have a wide range of special features, a celebratory issue of Supply Chain Outlook and so much more! Hang on to your hats, it’s going to be an exciting time for us all.
