Applying for a course through ELCAS may seem daunting, but we are here to help make the process as straightforward as possible. You can apply for our distance learning courses online, or call our helpful team of Course Advisors and they will guide you through the process.
Read our step-by-step guide below to find out more about how ELCAS application works.
STEP ONE: Exploring our range of ELCAS courses
The first step when considering an ELCAS course as part of your resettlement is exploring your options. IoSCM offer a range of accredited ELCAS courses across a variety of levels and industries, so you can choose the certification which best suits your needs.
You may be interested in Management courses, or feel that your skills are best suited to a role in Human Resources. We offer courses in everything from Logistics to Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, so don’t hesitate to browse our site to find the option that interests you the most.
STEP TWO: Contacting our team
It may be the case that you need more of a steer on what type of role your skills are best suited to, or it may be that you have a good idea of the career path you’d like to take. The best way to start making enquiries about your future is by contacting our team of specialist Course Advisors. You can do this by getting in touch through our contact page, or by calling freephone 0800 1422 522 to speak to our team by telephone.
STEP THREE: Finding which course is right for you
Once you’ve got in touch with our team of Course Advisors, we will need to know more about your learning aims and current experience. We want to know everything, from how long you’ve been serving in the Forces, to what specialist skills and knowledge you’ve gained during your military career.
We also want to know how we can tailor our ELCAS courses to your personal needs and timescales, so that you can effectively benefit from distance learning. It is important to tell us what kind of career path you might be interested in, and what you hope to gain from your learning experiences with IoSCM.
If you already have a good idea of what you want to achieve, our Course Advisors can begin helping you with your application. If you need further advice and support on which direction to take, our Course Advisors will be able to assist you with choosing the best course to suit your future ambitions.
STEP FOUR: Applying for a course using your Enhanced Learning Credits
Once you have made the decision on which course you’d like to apply for, our Course Advisors will guide you through the process of applying using your Enhanced Learning Credits.
To acquire the funding for your ELCAS course, you will need to fill out an application, which will need to be reviewed to ensure that you meet the criteria required to become an ELCAS student.
Applications can take some time to process, so we would recommend starting your application well in advance of when you would like to begin your studies.
STEP FIVE: Enrolment with IoSCM
Following the authorisation of your ELCAS application, your Course Advisor will be in touch to organise your official enrolment with IoSCM. They will need to confirm personal details such as your address, so you can be sent all course materials, and they will also confirm the time frames with you for when you will be completing each stage of your course.
STEP SIX: Beginning your course
After enrolment, you will be ready to begin your course. You will be provided with a number of course materials which have been collated by experts in each industry, and will be given deadlines to work towards based on your own flexible learning.
You will now be ready to start studying and using the support and resources provided for you, including learning support provided by experts from around the world and a global network of students to discuss your learning with.
