IoSCM Announces the Highly Anticipated Supply Chain Awards 2023

Newcastle Upon Tyne, 23rd October, 2023 – The Institute of Supply Chain Management (IoSCM) is thrilled to announce the eagerly awaited Supply Chain Awards 2023, set to take place on the 2nd of November at the Crowne Plaza in Newcastle. This prestigious event promises to be a grand celebration of excellence and innovation throughout the industry.

The IoSCM Supply Chain Awards are an annual recognition of outstanding achievements from across the supply chain industry. They serve as a platform to honour and highlight individuals and organisations that have demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership and contributions to the field.

The Supply Chain Awards 2023 will feature multiple award categories, each designed to celebrate the highest achievers in the supply chain profession, including:

Contribution to Wider Supply Chain Industry: recognises the individual or organisation that has made significant contributions within the supply chain industry.

Contribution to Innovation: honouring those with proven success in thinking outside of the box in order to introduce supply chain improvements.

Contribution to Education: celebrating those who have a positive impact on the careers of others through promoting the importance of education in the supply chain industry.

Defying the Odds: recognising individuals that have shone in the face of adversity and stood out from the crowd to achieve success.

Learner of the Year: acknowledges individuals who have achieved something outstanding through managing to study while overcoming personal or professional challenges.

Member of the Year: recognises members that have demonstrated their commitment to the IoSCM vision, representing fellow members and excelling in their field.

Employer of the Year: celebrates organisations that are proud to invest in the development of their employees, while also prioritising wellbeing in the workplace.

Contribution to Wider Supply Chain Improvement: honours individuals or organisations that demonstrate their commitment to the wider supply chain and the institute’s place within the industry.

Special Recognition for Advancing the Professional Development of our Armed Forces: this new award for 2023 recognises individuals that make a positive difference to the resettlement journey for those transitioning from the military to a civilian role.

The Philip Chaganis OBE Award: in honour of IoSCM’s Chairman, this award is bestowed upon the young achiever of the year. The winner will receive a bursary to support their further education within the industry.

The Kevin Rumfitt Award: in memory of IoSCM’s Founder, the Kevin Rumfitt Award celebrates those who have excelled within the supply chain profession.

In addition to the IoSCM Supply Chain Awards, 2023 will see the incorporation of The Sustain Chain Awards, which is an initiative helping the global supply chain to address the environmental and economic impact of industry on our planet. The awards will recognise those who are finding ways towards improvements within their sector and workplace, and those who are making the difference to achieve a sustainable future.

The categories for The Sustain Chain Awards include:

Delivering Corporate Social Improvements Within Business: this category celebrates individuals and organisations for the efforts they make to deliver positive improvements in line with their corporate social responsibilities.

Championing Corporate Social Responsibility Within the Workplace: this award recognises those who are passionate about making positive changes and promote new ways to be more socially responsible within the workplace.

Sustainability Champion: acknowledges the work individuals and organisations are doing to support sustainable improvements, from educating others on sustainability to investing time and resources to sustainable projects.

Award for Outstanding Charity or Community Project: this award recognises charities, social enterprises and community projects which have shown outstanding commitment to their causes.

Delivering Sustainable Improvements Within the Workplace: celebrates individuals and organisations that have made significant changes within the workplace towards achieving sustainability.

Delivering Positive Change in the Reduction of Single Use Plastics: single-use plastics have an extremely negative effect on the environment. This award acknowledges individuals or businesses that have made changes in order to reduce their use of this type of plastic.

Dedication to Creating a Safe Working Environment: recognises those who have made practical and effective changes within the workplace to create a safe environment for all employees.

The event will bring together professionals and innovators from the supply chain industry to celebrate the best in the business, network with peers, and gain insights into the industry’s future. The evening will be hosted by a distinguished guest speaker and feature a dinner and entertainment.
