China Business Conference 2013

  • 27th November 2013

On March 14th I attended the China Business Conference 2013 at the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre, London, on behalf of the Institute of Supply Chain Management (IoSCM). For my role in international business at the IoSCM, networking and building relationships is a crucial part of my job, and this event was certainly fantastic in this aspect! Starting with a video message from our Prime Minister David Cameron, the overwhelming message of the day was to emphasise how plentiful the opportunities are in China for British business right now – for example, David Roth, CEO of The Store, wowed us with some facts and figures – did you know that Shanghai’s GDP is equivalent to Brazil’s? (And Shanghai isn’t even China’s biggest city!).

What does that mean for IoSCM? China remains a key market for us due to demand from students here for high quality qualifications and membership and this demand is continuously increasing, which was a key reason I was brought on board with my Chinese business, language and cultural skills. High quality strategic partners efficiently support demand in each region, as well as a range of delivery partners, including training providers, colleges and universities, approved to deliver IoSCM qualifications internationally.

To discuss opportunities in China further, please feel free to drop me an email at sarah@ioscm.com.
