The IoSCM Awards 2025 – The Full Run Down of an Incredible Evening
The IoSCM 2025 Awards Ceremony took place on 9th October at the Crown Plaza Hotel, Newcastle Upon Tyne – the hometown of IoSCM.
The annual awards celebrate excellence, innovation, and dedication across the global supply chain, wider business landscape, our military and charity sectors. This event is not just about recognising achievements—it’s about honouring the people behind them: the visionaries, the problem-solvers, the leaders, and the unsung heroes who make a difference every single day.
Each finalist and winner represents the best of what our industry stands for—passion, resilience, creativity, and a commitment to driving progress. Whether through groundbreaking innovation, sustainable practices, or exceptional teamwork, their efforts inspire others and raise the bar for what’s possible!
Making the awards evening such a resounding success are the amazing sponsors and supporters of the event. We want to take the opportunity to thank once more the organisations that support the awards for their unwavering support.
The evening consisted of The Sustain Chain Awards, The Supply Chain Awards AND The Special Recognition Awards. Here is your breakdown of this year’s amazing winners!
The Sustain Chain Awards
There is no doubt that sustainability plays a crucial role in modern business. Through recognising organisations and individuals that are advancing sustainable practices, contributing to change, and inspiring others to do the same, these awards celebrate the achievements of those who are working to build a brighter and more sustainable future. We are delighted to share with you the 2025 Award Winners:
Commitment to Clean Power Award – Winner: Kier Group
The Commitment to Clean Power Award recognises organisations driving Britain’s transition to clean, renewable energy. This year’s winner, Kier Group, has been honoured for its strong sustainability strategy and measurable progress toward net zero.
Kier’s approach—centred on its People, Places, and Planet pillars—includes validated science-based targets, commitments to reach net zero by 2045, reductions in carbon and waste, and a shift to renewable energy. The company also invests heavily in apprenticeships, local employment, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring its environmental efforts create wider social value.
Kier Group is celebrated for its credible, practical actions toward clean power and its contribution to building sustainable UK infrastructure.
Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Improvements in the Supply Chain – Winner: MCS
The Outstanding Contribution to Sustainable Improvements in the Supply Chain award recognises organisations that have made measurable, meaningful progress in embedding sustainability throughout their supply chain operations. This category highlights initiatives that reduce environmental impact, enhance efficiency, strengthen ethical practices, and create long-term value for communities and stakeholders. Whether through process optimisation, carbon reduction, sustainable procurement, cost-saving measures, or innovative new approaches, the award celebrates businesses that show strategic commitment and real-world results.
This year’s winner, MCS, is a standout example of rapid and transformation-driven progress. In just two years, the organisation has moved from having no formal sustainability strategy to implementing an integrated, high-impact framework that spans governance, operations, culture, and community engagement. MCS has introduced initiatives that significantly cut carbon emissions, reduce business travel, improve energy efficiency, and embed sustainable procurement practices. The organisation has also delivered hundreds of thousands of pounds in social value, strengthened partnerships with local communities, and achieved impressive levels of employee engagement. Recognised across the industry for its innovation and impact, MCS demonstrates that strategic, sustained action can create a greener, more responsible supply chain. Their commitment makes them a thoroughly deserving winner of this year’s award.
Leadership in the Circular Economy – Winner: Abdulmajeed Marzouq
The Leadership in the Circular Economy award shines a spotlight on those who are reshaping how resources are used, moving industries away from the traditional linear “take, make, dispose” model and toward a regenerative, circular system. This category celebrates innovators who are reducing waste, maximising resource efficiency, and designing processes that emphasise reuse, recycling, and regeneration. It also honours those who are championing circular thinking—encouraging businesses and supply chains to minimise environmental impact while generating long-term economic and societal value.
This year’s winner, Abdulmajeed Marzouq, exemplifies circular leadership at a global scale. With over 14 years’ experience in procurement for major mega-projects, he has pioneered local content strategies and sustainable sourcing models that enhance resource efficiency while strengthening local economies. Abdulmajeed has successfully integrated automation and digital innovation into sustainability tracking and certification, enabling organisations to embed circular principles throughout their supply chains. His partnerships with international entities, SMEs, and local tech firms have created new pathways for smaller enterprises to take part in large-scale projects—fostering inclusion and circular growth. Beyond implementation, his impact extends into global thought leadership as an author, researcher, and advocate who has inspired organisations worldwide to embrace circular practices. His continued work in education, professional development, and policy development makes him a visionary leader and a truly deserving winner of the 2025 Leadership in the Circular Economy award.
Employee Engagement in Sustainability – Winner: Danielle Haskings
The Employee Engagement in Sustainability award celebrates organisations and individuals who successfully bring sustainability to life in the workplace. This category recognises that while sustainability ideas are often easy to generate, turning them into meaningful action requires dedication, communication, and leadership. It honours those who empower employees at all levels to contribute to sustainability goals through awareness, behaviour change, training, and initiatives that embed sustainability into day-to-day practices. Winners demonstrate that when people are engaged, informed, and inspired, they can drive extraordinary impact.
This year’s winner, Danielle Haskings, embodies this spirit. Her passion and commitment to sustainability have transformed the way employees across her organisation think, act, and collaborate on environmental and social value initiatives. Danielle not only champions sustainable behaviour—she creates it, delivering hands-on programmes, communications, and training that turn strategy into action. Under her guidance, employees have launched recycling challenges, energy-saving campaigns, volunteering activities, and supplier engagement initiatives, helping create a culture where sustainability is a shared responsibility. Danielle is also widely respected in the wider industry for her mentorship, voluntary work, and advocacy for social value. In a fitting twist, while she nominated her organisation for an award, she had no idea she had been nominated herself. Her leadership, humility, and profound impact make her an exceptional winner of the 2025 Employee Engagement in Sustainability award.
Sustainability Champion – Winner: RelyOn Nutec
The Sustainability Champion award recognises individuals or organisations that are driving substantial, positive change in sustainability—whether through innovation, leadership, education, or support for others on their journey. This category celebrates those who invest time, expertise, and resources to create meaningful impact, and who actively champion sustainability beyond their own operations. It honours organisations that set strong expectations for responsible practices, educate stakeholders, and inspire wider adoption of ethical and sustainable approaches.
RelyOn Nutec, this year’s winner, demonstrates exceptional leadership in building a more ethical, transparent, and environmentally responsible supply chain. Through a robust Code of Conduct for Business Relationships and alignment with global standards—including the UN Sustainable Development Goals and OECD guidelines—RelyOn Nutec has embedded responsible practices across its global network of suppliers. The organisation conducts regular impact and risk assessments, proactively identifying and mitigating social and environmental risks, and ensuring partners adhere to high standards of human rights, labour practices, anti-corruption, and environmental protection. Their commitment to transparent reporting and sustainable procurement reinforces the expectation that suppliers share their values and contribute to positive change. By extending its impact well beyond its own operations and driving continuous improvement across its supply chain, RelyOn Nutec exemplifies the role of a true Sustainability Champion.
